You Remind me
Author's Note: Written May 26 2019 and dedicated to all in this settler colony struggling to 'let go' of people or places not loving them as they deserve &/or drowning in addiction.
You remind me of
kids wearing Starter jackets
me, last to get the memo
observing others
oblivious to my not belonging
the boys i thought would
never see me
You remind me
that even a strange place can become home
that a stranger can become home
that there are safe places
however fleeting
in this land of broken dreams
Your brokenness
so comfortable
your affection
so perfect
